DIE TOTEN HOSEN:

LEARNING ENGLISH, LESSON 1

(JKP / 1991)

There will always be bands young kids listen with enthusiasm. Some of those kids try to imitate what they have heard and start their own band. Some of those bands get a little farther than a cellar door.

That is what happened to boys from Dusseldorf. For them the result was Die Toten Hosen. One day they got the idea about making a tribute album. Aim was to record songs which influenced them. Songs they liked when starting their venture.

The main idea was to record with persons who once parted making of the original songs. As a result we can listen an album featuring for example Joey Ramone, Matt Dangerfield, Wreckless Eric, Captain Sensible and Johnny Thunders.

Some of bands presented here didn't even reach a stage of making an album. This CD might nowadays be the only chance to hear even one song of them.

When your son asks you: "Dad, what was punk rock?", take out this CD. Ronald Biggs and Campino have the answer.
